The control for the game is deceptively simple. You aim the bow with your mouse, and release it by left clicking. It sounds like the easiest thing in the world, but getting off a good shot is quite hard, especially against a moving target. You also only have five arrows, so you must pick and choose your shots very carefully. Luckily your arrows are reloaded automatically, so lining about multiple shots is not as difficult.

Not only will you have to worry about moving targets but also about wind blowing your shots off course. The wind is displayed in the lower left hand corner of your screen so you know how much you have to adjust each of your shots.

The game is very lifelike, and you will not be able to bring down a deer unless you have a good clean killing shot. Otherwise it will take multiple arrows. You are awarded higher point totals for bringing down deer at greater distances, and if they are running versus walking or standing still. If you can bring down five running deer at 50 yards, with one shot each, you know you are a true marksman.

Hunting games are quite enjoyable, and the next best thing to when we cannot actually make it out to the woods. Good ones like Rage "Put'em Down" Interactive Archery are very life-like, and have things all hunters have to worry about, including distance, wind, and moving targets.
